Marjorie Ann Giesler, 88, Green Bay, passed away at home on September 27, 2011. She was born March 14, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Knute) Rollin. Marjorie married Carl W. Giesler on June 29, 1946. He preceded her in death in April of 2011. She was a graduate of East High School, Class of ’41. After high school she held various positions at the Bank of Green Bay, Joannes Co., and the Fauerbach Brewery in Madison. She and Carl traveled the world after his retirement and she remembered all the details of their trips. She was involved in many volunteer and charitable activities including the Red Cross, after school reading programs, and was a long time supporter of the “Coats for Kids” program. Her grandchildren were her great joy and she attended hundreds of their basketball and soccer games. She loved to play cards with the grandchildren, take them fishing, and work on jigsaw puzzles at the cottage. She liked knitting and created many Afghans, hats, and mittens for her family and for charity. She is survived by a son, David (wife, Barbara) and their children, Eugene and Stephanie, and a great-granddaughter, Jade Giesler, Green Bay; a son, Jeffrey (wife, Sandra) and their children Lynn, Paul, Erin, and Leslie, Green Bay; a daughter Nancy, Madison WI; and a daughter, Ellen, Green Bay. She is also survived by a brother, Norbert Rollin (Ruth), Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Grace Dittmer, Nooksack WA, and Ann LaFortune (Rev. Joe LaFortune) Fargo ND; and a brother-in-law, Rev. John Giesler (Barbara), Winston-Salem NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; two sons, Thomas and Brian; and two sisters Marion Morrison and Doris Van Oss. The family is especially grateful to Marge’s daughters Nancy and Ellen who cared for her during her illness. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Allouez, on Friday, September 30th at 11 a.m. with Fr. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Visitation will precede the Mass from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday. Entombment will be at the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.
