Marion (Fend) Orde

Marion L. Orde, 98, longtime Green Bay resident, passed from life on this earth into life with the Father on May 19, 2014. She was born February 8, 1916 in Gillett to Joseph and Ruby Fend. She married Clifford J. Orde on July 28, 1936 at St. Willebrord Catholic Church and together they had four sons. They lived in Green Bay and spent their free time at their cottage on Chute Lake. She worked at the old St. Mary Hospital on Webster Ave. becoming a licensed professional nurse working in the surgery department. She enjoyed fishing and made numerous fishing trips to Canada with ‘the girls’ from the surgery department. At 87 years of age, she made her last fishing trip to Canada with her son Keith and his wife Melody. She also enjoyed reading and quilting, having lovingly made by hand a quilted item for each grandchild. Survivors include her sons, Thomas, Curtiss and Keith; her grandchildren Kelly (Brian) Albers, Kevin (Jennifer) Orde, Jessica (Philip) Huizenga, Tammy Orde and Heidi (Scott) Stender; and several great grandchildren Brooke, George, Brendan and Samuel Albers, Jessica Koehler and Mia Orde, Madalyn and Phinley Huizenga, Mary and Helen Stender and Skylar Behunin. She is further survived by one sister Pearl Moudry. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, her son, Neil, her brother Leonard Fend and a great grandson, Scott. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Marion will be buried alongside her husband at Fort Howard Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Special thanks to the staff at Unity Hospice and Bornemann Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Marion in the last few months and the excellent support given to her family.
