Marilyn Jakubovsky Gerczak

April 13, 1933 — December 3, 2018

Marilyn E. Jakubovsky Gerczak, age 85, of De Pere, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 with her family at her side. The daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Albrecht) Blahnik, was born April 13, 1933 in Algoma. She graduated from Algoma High School in 1951 and attended the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minnesota. On July 23, 1955, she married James M. Jakubovsky at St. Mary Catholic Church in Algoma, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1981. She worked for Dr. Pudleiner in Algoma until the time she and James moved to Manitowoc in 1956. They later moved to the Green Bay area in 1958.
After James passed away, she attended NWTC to become a CNA, and worked in De Pere for 18 years. She married Don “Pickles” Gerczak in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 2005. Marilyn enjoyed bowling, downhill skiing, golfing, softball, trips to Algoma and traveling.
Survivors include her children: Jamie (Mike) Graper, Mary (Ronald) VanLanen, Tom (Katie) Jakubovsky, Dave (Patty) Jakubovsky, Amy Jakubovsky (Amy Truttman), Ann (Michael) Kaczmarek; grandchildren: Gabe (Jessi) Graper, Cassandra Graper, Sara Graper, Lauren Graper, Alissa Graper, Kristin Lytie, Vincent VanLanen, Thomas Jakubovsky, Jr., Josephine Jakubovsky, Samantha Jakubovsky, Amanda (Darren) Vollmar, Rebecca (Alex) Vissers, James Jakubovsky, Lillian Sprenger, Maelyn Kaczmarek, Morgan Kaczmarek; great-grandchildren: Kolton Graper, Camden Graper, Clayton Vollmar, Elise Vollmar, Peter Vissers and David Vissers; sister: Gail (Don) De Meuse; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Verna (William) Moore, Jerry Blahnik, Sr. Mary Ramone Blahnik, and anyone else not mentioned above.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Thursday, December 6, from 2-5pm. Funeral service will follow at 5:00pm with Fr. Paul Demuth officiating.
Our family would like to thank the caregivers at Wyndemere and Unity Hospice for taking such great care of her.
