Marilyn Ebert

April 9, 1932 — November 29, 2023

On November 29th, 2023, Marilyn Jean (Kellerman) Ebert went on to eternal life. Marilyn was 91 years old, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was born April 9th, 1932 in Green Bay WI to Frank & Margaret (Johnson) Kellerman. She was a graduate of Green Bay East High School in 1950, and Beloit College in 1953. She completed her teaching degree in three years by attending summer schools at both St Norbert College & UW Madison.

Marilyn was a public school teacher in Green Bay, initially at Lincoln School, Webster School and then was a 5th grade teacher at Allouez School. She retired from teaching in 1987.

As a junior at East High School, she met John Ebert, and they became high school sweethearts. They dated through high school, while she was attending college, & while John was in the US Navy—serving during the Korean War, stationed in San Francisco Bay. They were married on April 16th, 1955 and shared 66 years of happiness together, until John’s passing in August 2021.

While their children were growing up, Marilyn & John were active members of Faith Lutheran Church in Green Bay. They traveled extensively around the world, but their favorite place of all is the home they built upon retirement, in Sturgeon Bay WI. Their family & extended family all enjoyed being there together on weekends. Goodie times at the cottage were the best, and Marilyn was always a gracious hostess!

Marilyn is survived by her children Linda (Kevin) Just, and Mark (Kathy) Ebert. Marilyn’s grandchildren are Lindsay (Dakota) Perock, Jack Just (fiancé Mallory Charlier), Emily (Matt) McNulty, and Erica Ebert (fiancé Jared Roselle). Marilyn has 1 great granddaughter Shea Perock.

Marilyn is further survived by Sister-in-law Jane Kellerman, Sisters-in-law Marge Grogg, Marilyn Begotka, Lois Ebert, brother-in-law L. Paul (Pam) Ebert, and sister-in-law Helen Ebert. Also remembering with love, special nieces & nephews, friends & neighbors.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Margaret Kellerman, parents-in-law Herb & Lillian Ebert, sister Marge (Paul) Kriedeman, brother Bob Kellerman, brothers-in-law Dick Grogg, DuWayne Begotka, and Larry Ebert.

Visitation for family & friends will be held Friday December 8, 2023 from 9:30am until 10:45am at Faith Lutheran Church, 2335 S. Webster Ave in Green Bay. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am at the church, with Pastor Joshua Errer officiating. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established at the church.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bellin Hospital and Unity Hospice, for the care and compassion given to Marilyn in these last months. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
