Marian (Hoeykens) Holmes

Marian Holmes, 97, Bellevue, formerly of De Pere, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, May 9, 2011, at the Bellevue Senior Living Center. On March 31, 1914 she was born in North Dakota to the late Fred and Annie (Schmidt) Hoeykens. She moved to New Franken as a young adult then lived in the Green Bay/ De Pere area. She married Donald A. Holmes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt on July 24, 1943. She was a longtime employee of Green Bay Packaging. Marian is survived by her sister, Johanna Hoeykens; nieces and nephews, Janice Fleck (David) Schonke; Kathleen Platten (Robert) Milford; Fred (Jeane) Fleck; Marjorie Marsh (Dennis) Foth; Janet Maupin (Robert) Connell; David Marsh; Gene (Kathy) Maupin; Lynn Wilkerson; many great nieces and nephews as well as many great-great nieces and nephews; and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald and sister, Minnie (Charles) Smith. Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, from 10AM to 11AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Saturday at the church with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
