Marian E. Petersen

Age 87 of Denmark, passed away on June 8, 2022.

Marian was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Denmark. She was a beautician for three years and a farmer for 45 years in Denmark. Marian cooked for Cedar Ridge Restaurant in Maribel for 15 years. She loved cake decorating, baking, and fixing family friends’ hair. She graduated from Gillett High School in 1953 and in 1954 from Accredited School of Beauty College. Marian gave birth to six children.

She will be deeply missed by children, Vicki (Jay) Rifleman, Gail Horkman, Glenda Petersen, Jack Peterson, Richard Petersen, Wendy (Ken) Collins; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; sister, Carol (Gerald, deceased) Denoble; sister-in-law, Louise (Harlan, deceased) Ihlenfeldt; and brother-in-law, Joe Kobes.

She is preceded in death by husband, Howard; parents, Clarence and Gardina Hanson; twin sister, Marilyn (Lloyd) Rahmlow; sisters-in-law Delia (Al) Zokan and Alice Kobes; brothers-in-law, Daniel, Alvin, and Gordon (Beatrice) Petersen; mother-in-law and father-in-law Arthur and Nettie Petersen; great-granddaughter, Stella; and sons-in-law, George Broekman and Ron Horkman.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home-Denmark Chapel, 536 County Road R, Denmark, on Sunday, June 12, from 3-7pm. Visitation will continue at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 435 Wisconsin Ave, Denmark, on Monday, from 10:00am until 10:45am. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am with Pastor Andy Zoerb officiating. Entombment will be in the Shine of the Good Shepherd.
