Marian D. Grode, 70, Wrightstown, passed away January 1, 2013, after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The daughter of Norbert and Elizabeth (Spierings) Micke was born September 20, 1942 in Appleton. She married Brian Grode on May 15, 1962 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. She loved to bowl and sing in the choir. She had a deep love of family and friends, who she enjoyed spending time with. Survivors include: her husband, Brian, children: Mark (special friend Christy) Grode, Ted (Laurie) Grode, Kelli (Dennis) Effa, Tami (Rod) Just, Bruce (special friend Tanya) Grode, Boni (Kevin) Dvorachek and Kathi (Mike) Danke; grandchildren: Eric, Ashley, Amber, Sammi, Ben, Keith, Tyler, Brandon, Colten, Brooklyn and Bridget; great-grandchildren: Ava, Caleb and Hailey. Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Margaret (Clarence) Smet, Eugene (Deloris) Micke, Rosemary (the late Gerald) VanEperen, Carol (Gerald) Ederer, Patty (Robert) Gerend, Helen (Robert) Fritsch, Betty (Charles) Heading, Robert Micke, Mary (Jim) Dickrell, Kathleen (Paul) Miller and William (Jean) Micke; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ken (Carol) Grode, Charlotte Wynboom, Gene Grode and Rosie Grode; nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Robert Micke; brothers-in-law: Wayne Grode and Dick Wynboom; and a sister-in-law Marilyn Grode. Family and friends may call at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, on Saturday, January 5, from 9am until the hour of Mass. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11am Saturday with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating and Msgr. John Schuh concelebrating. Cotter Funeral Home, Wrightstown, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Theda Care Hospice, especially, Dawn, Leslie, Julie and Chaplain Jordan, as well as Parkside Nursing Home for their care and concern.
