Marian Adele (Widmer) Gould

Marian A. Gould died Thursday, July 14, 2016, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, at age 94. She was born to John and Kathryn Widmer in Sheffield, Indiana in 1922. She graduated from Dayton High School, Purdue University, and the University of Chicago. She married John L. Gould in 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa. She worked as a librarian for the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay, and raised five children. She was the treasurer of the League of Women Voters of Greater Green Bay for many years. She was active in Evergreen Quilters, and made quilts for children with Warmth from the Heart that were donated to Brown County elementary schools. She is survived by her sons Dan (Alice), Walt (Polly), Frank (Jeszika), and Ed; her grandchildren, Lora (Mark), TJ (Ka), Colin, Dustin (Kim), Jazmone, Mycah, Dustin, and Damarion; her great-grandchildren, Zaniya, Maliyah, Xavier, Jaden, and Marion; nieces and nephews, Harold, Jack (Phyllis); Anna; Nancy, Carolyn (Chip); Tom (Candy), Susan; and many more family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother and sisters, her husband's brothers and their wives, two nephews, and by her son Teddy. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster, De Pere, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, after 2:00PM until the time of her memorial service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Ted Tromble officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Allouez. Online condolences may be sent to www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
