Marguerite "Meg" Larscheid

Marguerite “Meg” Larscheid, age 90, of Allouez, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016. She dealt with failing health and has finally found peace. Meg is pain free once again and her wishes to be with the Lord have been granted. Meg was born December 30, 1925 in Aurora, WI, the daughter of the late John and Eva Elmer. The family moved to Iron Mountain, MI when she was 6, where she graduated from Iron Mountain High School in the class of 1942. Meg followed her sister Vivian to Green Bay and attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She was enrolled in the Army Nurse Cadet Corp and would have cared for wounded soldiers but the war ended by the time she graduated in March of 1949. It was in nursing school that Meg met Rose Bieda Ryczkowski, who became her life-long best friend. Rose introduced Meg to her future husband, Clayton Larscheid, and they married on May 30, 1949. Ever the nurse, Meg worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in OB, as a nursing supervisor, as a clinic nurse, and at a local nursing home. She ended her career volunteering with hospice. Meg is survived by her 3 children: Francine Lutz, Charles (Carol) Larscheid and Julie (David) Baeten. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Heather Kelly, Patrick Kelly, Sarah Lemerond, Robert Larscheid, Christopher Baeten and Katie Baeten; as well as her loving sister Vivian Larson, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Meg was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, parents John and Eva Elmer, brothers: Monsignor Charles Elmer and John “Tim” Elmer; in-laws: Margaret and Henry Larscheid, as well as a brother-in-law Merle Larscheid. Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street, Allouez, on Wednesday, November 30, from 10:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:00am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
