Margaret (Denis) Letts, 93, Rebekah Haven, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011. She was born June 18, 1917, in De Pere, daughter to the late Joseph and Mae (Smith) Denis. She graduated from De Pere High School, State Teachers College in Oshkosh, and from the University of Idaho. Margaret married A. Lewis Letts on June 18, 1944, and he preceded her in death in September of 1949. Margaret taught in the Green Bay School System for many years, including Preble and Edison Junior High Schools. She was a 50 year member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Green Bay, where she served as an Elder, Deacon, and was active in Sunday School and Guild. She was currently a member of Wequiock Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise and John Olsen, Green Bay, and Ruth Henschel, Plymouth; three grandchildren: Peter (Kerri) Olsen, Sheboygan, and their children Max and Sam; Robert (Trisha) Olsen, Guyton, Georgia, and Maribeth (Christian) Beck, Appleton, and their son Alex; special nephew, William (Myra) Manser; and other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by three brothers; Lewis (Johanna) Denis, Robert (Virginia) Denis, and James (Vernal) Denis; and three sisters, Mildred Denis, Jean (Aldor) Manser, and Myrtle (Hermann) Aissen; and son-in-law, Wallace Henschel. Friends may call Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere. Funeral service will be held 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Kamke officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
