Margaret Brantmeier

September 9, 1927 — March 28, 2022

Margaret Mary Brantmeier, 94, was carried home in the arms of our Savior on March 28th, 2022. Born September 9th, 1927, to Jacob and Margaret (Duffy) Vande Voort. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Wrightstown High School, class of 1945. On November 17th, 1945, she married Brandy Brantmeier at St. Paul’s Church in Wrightstown. Brandy & Maggie farmed for 34 years in Askeaton, where she was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Church in Askeaton. While in Askeaton she enjoyed going to card parties, going snowmobiling with the Askeaton Snowmobile Club, and entertaining friends and relatives. She was an amazing hostess, always having a meal, including dessert, for anyone who showed up, even if only 5 minutes before the meal was to be served.

In 1979, they retired from farming and moved to Missouri, where they bought a ranch and raised beef cattle. They made many new friends and entertained many of their Wisconsin friends and family, along with their new friends. While they were there for twenty years, she enjoyed fishing on their lake, dancing, going to auctions and traveling, including the trips to Wisconsin, cruises to Alaska and Hawaii, and her trip to Ireland with her sister and nieces. After Brandy passed away, Maggie returned to Wisconsin, where her doors were always open, as well as her heart.

Survived by her children: Mary (Bob) Mancoske, Joanne (Ron) Propson, Jane (Jim) Steinberger, Tom (Joyce) Brantmeier, Don (Judy) Brantmeier, Jean Klug (Special friend Robin Sloma), Bob (Donna) Brantmeier, Laura Heimerl, Joe (Fancy) Brantmeier, 36 grandchildren, and 80 great and great-great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Brandy, sons and daughter-in-law, Jim & Dan (Karen) Brantmeier, son-in-law Bob Heimerl, her brother and sisters, Robert (Margaret) Vande Voort, Rita Scheibe, Jane (Francis) Keyzer, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-laws, Leo (Del) Brantmeier, Vicky (Al) Jensen, Francis (Jean) Brantmeier and Don (Gen) Brantmeier.

We would like to thank Dr. Ruggles, the St. Vincent Eighth floor staff, Heartland Hospice, Dr. Spika, Beth Wagner, Amedisys Home Health, and Michelle for their special care given to mom.
