July 22, 1942 — September 26, 2013

Marcia J. Carter, age 71, of De Pere, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Raymond and Phyllis (Sabrowsky) Wojciechowski was born July 22, 1942 in Thorp, WI. She married Ronald Carter on September 8, 1962 at St. Anthony Church in Athens, WI. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2008. She attended Athens High School and the Madison Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Pepsi for over 35 years until her retirement. She enjoyed cheering on the Packers, puzzles, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, playing games on her iPad and knitting. Marcia truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Randy (Brenda) Carter, Jodi Carter, Tami (John) Westcott and Ronald “Kip” Carter; grandchildren: Erika and Ethan Carter, Jordan Sommer, Zachary, Ashley, Dominic and Patrick Carter; a sister, Sharon Wallschlaeger; and Ron’s family: Arlene Weiland, Marcella (Roman) Schreiber, Geri Rottier, Melvin (Marlene) Carter and Shirley (Anthony) Zettler; as well as many nieces and nephews and a special grand-dog, Cooper. In addition to her husband, Ronald, Marcia was preceded in death by her mother and father; her mother and father-in-law, Alfred and Leona Carter; and two brothers-in-law: Herb Weiland and Bernard Rottier. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere on Wednesday, October 2, from 5-8pm. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr, Ledgeview, from 9:30-10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ryan and the staff of Green Bay Oncology, the 9th floor caregivers, ER staff and nurses at St. Vincent Hospital, and everyone at Allouez Parkside Village for the care and concern shown to Marcia and her family. Also, a warm thank you to friends and family who offered support during her battle with cancer.
