Marcella "Marcie" M. Van Zeeland

Marcella “Marcie” Van Zeeland, age 102 of Green Bay, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2019. Marcie was born on September 20, 1916 in Morris, Wisconsin to the late Harry and Emma (Rew) Tullberg and was raised on the family farm. After graduating from high school, she married William J. Van Zeeland on January 14, 1941 in Wrightstown, who preceded her in death on August 24, 1968. Bill and “Toots” (as he affectionately called her) were a great team. They owned and operated several businesses together, including auto dealerships, motels, an antique shop and several homes which they remodeled and then sold. She continued to run these businesses after Bill passed away and raised their 5 children. Marcie was a very positive person, and a great storyteller who always enjoyed a good joke. She also enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and visiting with others. In fact, at the assisted living facility where she lived for 7 years, she was the unofficial greeter at the reception area. Even as her health failed, she continued to be a very upbeat and positive person, frequently saying, “Everything is copacetic.” She was so kind to everyone, and everyone loved to be around her. No one ever had an unkind thing to say about her. She was known to be a smart, strong and independent woman. In her later years Marcie enjoyed traveling and spending her winters in Nevada.

Marcie will be dearly missed by her children; Marilyn (Lionel) Crowley, Kenneth (Ellen) Van Zeeland, Vicki Stangel and William (Denise) Van Zeeland, and by her grandchildren; Lisa (Paul) Frederick, Melany Crowley, Colin (Marie) Crowley, Sara (Jon) Strauss, Julie (Verlyn) Suderman, Mary (Matthew) Hajzl, Heidi (Almir) Menso, Kati (John) Gruneisen, Chad (special friend Andrea) Stangel, Tara (Jeremy) DuBois, Lisa Becker, Phillip (Yareli) Van Zeeland and Emily Nelis who she always encouraged to work hard and do their best and to enjoy life. She is further survived by 26 (and counting) great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Harry and Emma Tullberg, her husband, William Van Zeeland and her son, Rodney Van Zeeland.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held at this time, however, a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Marcie lived beautifully and she died beautifully with her strong faith in God.
