Lucille B. Kane, the daughter of the late Thomas H. Kane and Bernadine C. (O’Hearn) Kane, entered eternal life on August 2, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her devoted son, Ryan J. Kane, brothers, Robert T. (La Verne) Kane and Tom J. Kane, both of Denmark and sisters: Mary (Jack) Roberts (FL), Dorothy (Ron) Van Patten (Menominee Falls), Bernadine (Bill) Van De Yacht (Ledgeview), and brother-in-law, Jim Halbrook (Allouez). She is further survived by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, godsons, Tom Van De Yacht, Kyle Roberts and Joe Kane and special cousin, Shala (Kane) Kilmer and dear friends, Vivian (Stodola) and Alan Schaetz. She was preceded into eternal life by her parents, sister, Doris (Kane) Halbrook, godson, Tyler J. Kane, nieces, Grace Bernadine Fricker and Jolle Roberts, two miscarriages, and numerous aunts and uncles and special friend, Mary Grace (Kapinos) Tomchek. Lucille was born on a dairy farm near Cooperstown during a simpler time at home and without a doctor. Her Uncle Henry (Bud) Kane had to pick up the doctor at St. Mary’s Stark Catholic Church, but by the time they arrived, Lu had already arrived on the scene. Although her three older sisters were thrilled with the newest arrival, her brother Bob cried because he wanted a brother. Lucille loved children and through her many years of teaching touched the lives of so many. To her Native American friends at the Oneida Nation Turtle Elementary School, she says “Yaw ko”. She has learned so much about your culture and ways and loves you all! Lucille would like to thank the following for all of their help: Father Bob Kabat, Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep, Ann Froelich, members of the Prayer Chain, and Barb Loritz of St. Matthew Parish; Green Bay Doctors Eugene Schmitz, Kohl, Leestra, Ryan and Jonathan Tammela, and Dr. Janet Raider of Froedtert Hospital; dear family and friends including Dr. Dan De Groot and Amy and Doug Polasky; and Doug Van Iten and staff at ProFitness, Allouez, for their encouragement and joy-filled workouts. As a former Realtor, Lucille signed the most important real estate transaction ever possible…that of Eternal Life. Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, August 6 at St. Matthew Parish, 130 S. Matthew St., Allouez. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. with Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. She will be laid to rest at St. James Catholic Cemetery, Cooperstown. Online condolences may be sent to www.cotterfuneralhome.com. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements As Lucille appreciated the simple beauty of nature, in lieu of sending flowers, she invites those who attend her celebration of life to bring a flower from your woods, garden or field and fill the empty vases that will be waiting.
