Loretta M. Green, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born July 31, 1924 in Freedom, WI, daughter of the late Peter and Dorothy (Van Lanen) Van Rossum. Loretta attended Sunny Corners Elementary School .She married the late Melvin A. Green on June 1, 1944 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. The Greens farmed for 30 years on their dairy farm, and then Loretta did custodial work for St. Paul Catholic Church. Loretta served as a 4-H leader and enjoyed hobbies such as cake decorating, quilting, ceramics, sewing, cooking, camping, playing cards, bowling, ballroom and square dancing. Loretta was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Loretta will be deeply missed by her 10 Children: Joni Vande Hey, Appleton, Kenny (Kathy) Green, Appleton, Sherry Green, Tucson, AZ., Glenn (Kathy) Green, Appleton, Peggy (Tom) Galloway, De Pere, Linda (Chuck) Roehrborn, Kaukauna, Wendy (Jay) Kassera, Hortonville, Wayne (Carolyn) Green, Greenleaf, Kevin Green, Darboy and Dori (Jim) Villenauve, Green Bay; 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law Agnes Nolan of DePere, Marion (Merle) Van Handel, Green Bay and RosieVan Rossum along with a host of loving nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her best friend, riding and shopping partner, Wimpi (Raymond) Van Dyn Hoven, and special friends: Helen Hubbard, Ellen Schiebe, and Sharon and Monty Reynolds. Loretta is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Green, her parents Peter and Dorothy Van Rossum, along with the following siblings: Adrian (Ella) Van Rossum, Bertha (Ed) Van Domelen, George (Ruth) Van Rossum, One infant brother William, Charles (Harriet) Van Rossum, Norbert Van Rossum, Henry (Gertrude) Van Rossum and one sister-in- law Luella Van Rossum. Also preceding Loretta in death are her in-laws as follows: Margaret Reiter, Jim and Laura Achten, Harvey and Reta Green, and Robert Nolan. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Wednesday, August 3, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with a Parish Prayer Service concluding the evening. Visitation will continue on Thursday, at the church, from 9:30am-10:45am. The Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown. Cotter Funeral Home of Wrightstown is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
