Loretta Elizabeth (Carter) Brown, 80, Rockland, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at a local hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 1, 1935 to the late Oliver “Levi” and Edith (Patton) Carter. She married Harvey Brown on September 29, 1954 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glenmore, and together they shared 61 years of marriage. She worked for Wisconsin Public Service, Brown County and served for many years as the Rockland Town Clerk. Loretta enjoyed trips to the casino, playing and watching golf, sport truck racing (especially watching her Nephew, Brett race). In addition to being an avid Packer fan, going to the cottages, playing Skip-Bo, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and had fond memories of the Alaskan cruise she took with Harvey for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Loretta is survived by her husband, Harvey; children, Gary (Patti) Brown, Lou Ann (Jim) DePetro, Jeff Brown, Lisa (Darwin) Pankow, Bonnie (Brian) Lasee and Barbara (Jim) Majestic; grandchildren: Nicole Lasee (fiancé David Williams), Katie and Allison Nohre (their father Ron) and Matthew Majestic; her siblings: Jerry (Kathy) Carter and Jane Van Horn; Harvey’s family: Richard (Gail) Brown, Al Vandenberg, Nancy Verheyen; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Donna Mae) Carter, Ray (Jean) Carter, Thomas Carter, Bruce Van Horn; Harvey’s mother and father: Edwin (Elinora) Brown; and Harvey’s sister and brother: Leona Vandenberg and Leo (Veronica) Brown. Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Saturday, November 14, from 8:30am until 10:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Loretta at 11:00am with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Greenleaf.
