Lois M. Boettge

December 10, 1937 — November 12, 2021

Lois Mary Boettge passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 12, 2021.

Lois was born in Green Bay on December 10, 1937, to Marie (Petrasek) & Joseph Zienciak. Lois was one of two sisters. Unfortunately, she was raised as an only child following the passing of her sister when yet a young girl.

On June 21, 1958, Lois married Daniel A. Boettge with whom she shared 63 years.  Together, they were blessed with three beautiful boys:  Richard “Ricky”, James “Jay” (Julie) and Dennis (Amy); and five grandchildren: Daniel & Robert Livingston and Audra, Jillian and Danica Boettge.

Lois was happiest when surrounded by family & dear friends, dancing or enjoying sunshine & warmth.  Many of Lois & Dan’s summers were spent traveling with their boys from sea to sea visiting all the National Parks, or partaking of the “Terrace Crew” festivities, or attending baseball games and derby races.  Her boys kept her on her toes, but she wouldn’t have traded a minute of it.  One of her favorite places was ‘Up Nort’, specifically Sugar Camp in her later years.  She enjoyed fishing, pontooning and taking in the local fare.  Lois was an animal lover, spoiling her many cats over the years and ensuring the deer and ducks were always well-fed.

Lois was preceded in death by her sister and her parents.  She also recently lost her son, Ricky, unexpectedly.  Although his death left her broken-hearted, he undoubtedly welcomed her Home with open arms and his big smile.

The family wishes to thank all of Lois’s wonderful friends who helped make her life spectacular, Unity Hospice for their loving care of Lois, and Cotter Funeral Home for their assistance with arrangements. A private memorial for the family is planned.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of your choice in Lois’s name.
