Lloyd A. Pratsch, 94, Green Bay, passed away on Thursday morning, July 19, 2012. He was born on August 8, 1917 in the family home on Broadway Street in De Pere to the late Leland and Clara (Falk) Pratsch. Lloyd was born while his father was away in WWI. He and his mother moved to the family farm where only German was spoken. He was 2 years old before his father saw him. Lloyd was able to speak German even before English as a child. He graduated from St. Norbert High School as the valedictorian of his class. He graduated salutatorian from St. Norbert College. He was ever grateful to the Norbertine Order for his education and his deep love of the Catholic Faith. He served as a respected and well known court reporter with Brown County, retiring after 41 years of service. Lloyd had a love of the law, music, arts and literature. Lloyd was an active member of the De Pere Historical Society. He was also active in his church at St. Willebrord Catholic Church in Green Bay. He married the love of his life, Blanche Goffard, on October 12, 1940, she preceded him in death on March 15, 1999. Family was Lloyd’s most important part of life, together with Blanche they raised their seven children, instilling a sense of responsibility and character in each of them. Survivors include his children, Lloyd W. (Rita); Robert M.; Sally Louise (Michael) O’Brien; Gordon G.; Bonnie Lee (David) Baldwin; Linda Ann Pratsch (Larry Reed); Carolyn (Richard) Dodd; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, a parish prayer services will be at 7:30PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 10:00AM until 12 Noon at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, 209 S. Adams St., Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial for Lloyd will be at the church at 12 Noon on Saturday with Rev. Andrew Cribben and Rev. John O’Brien concelebrating. Interment will follow in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
