Lisa Renee (Kaster) Schlafer

Lisa Renee (Kaster) Schlafer, age 53, of De Pere passed away peacefully Friday November 3, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Hospital. Lisa is the eldest daughter of Paul and Bonnie Kaster. Lisa was a graduate of De Pere High School class of 1982. She furthered her education at the Wisconsin College of Cosmetology. Following school, Lisa worked as a hair stylist at Ambiance Hair Studio, Green Bay, WI. She married her best friend and soulmate Rodney Schlafer on June 20, 1998 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in De Pere. They were blessed by a son Eli Schlafer, who was fortunate to celebrate his 17th birthday with her a few days ago. Lisa was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece and friend. She had a zest for life and it was something that we all admired. One of her favorite things to do was watch her son Eli play hockey. Lisa, Rodney and Eli share many memories at the hockey rinks traveling throughout Wisconsin. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, music, and the memories she shared with her family and friends. Lisa served selflessly, gave tirelessly and loved unconditionally. She will truly be missed by her husband, son, family and friends. She is survived by her husband Rodney and son, Eli. Her parents, Paul and Bonnie Kaster, siblings Dean Kaster and Shana Kaster, and niece Jenesis, Uncle Tom Kaster and Aunt Judy Nelson. Her mother in law, Nancy Schlafer, brothers and sisters in law, Frank and Jenny Schlafer, Jon and Amy Schlafer, Joi and Greg Ahrens, Suzanne and Russ Blazek. Nieces and nephews, Ben (Ann) Schlafer, Cole (Sarah) Schlafer, David (Lizzie) Schlafer, Patrick Schlafer, Jon Schlafer, Sadie Schlafer, Maddy and Tyler Ahrens and great nephew Simon Schlafer. Aunts and uncles, Tom Hutchison, Dr. Margaret Hutchison, Mary and Ray LeBrun, Bill and Darlene Hutchison, Judy and Bob Fischer, David and Kathy Hutchison, and Phil and Barb Schlafer. Lisa is preceded in death by her father in law Frank Schlafer, grandparents, Bernard and Esther Kaster, Hjalmar and Vera Norrell, Alton and Bernice Hutchison, Wilmer and Dorothy Schlafer. Aunts and Uncles, Roberta and Jim Prunty, Betty and Norm Balthazor, and Marian Hutchison. Family and friends may call on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9am to 11:30am at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr, Green Bay.
