Reeve, Lila M. (Breneman) Lila Marie (Breneman) Reeve, 89, Town of Cooperstown, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at The Shepherd’s Inn, Seymour, Wisconsin. She was born August 27, 1922 in Pardeeville, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Royce James and Gladys Marie (Loveland) Breneman. Lila graduated from Pardeeville High School, Pardeeville, Wisconsin and she received her Teacher’s Certificate from Columbia County Normal School, Columbus, Wisconsin. She taught in one-room schools in rural Dane and Columbia Counties before her marriage. Lila married Robert Keane (Bob) Reeve, June 11, 1946, in Pardeeville, Wisconsin. She and Bob resided on their farm for 65 years and shared a love for their orchard and gardens. Lila was the anchor for the family as she and Bob raised their four children. Cooking and baking were a source of enjoyment for her every day. Lila was a 4-H project leader for a number of years, and she introduced young 4-H members in the Kellnersville area to sewing and growing house plants. She also organized educational trips to businesses and factories. For a decade, Lila prepared homemade jams and jellies from fruits she grew to be offered for sale by the Bridge Between Retreat Center. She always appreciated the company of the many wild avian residents of her property. Survivors include her four children: Janet R. (Patrick) Carlton, Las Vegas, Nevada; Lorraine E. (Dennis Kiesling) Reeve, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Dennis A. (Beverly) Reeve, Luxemburg, Wisconsin; and Ann M. (Randy) Patzke, Hastings, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Elizabeth N. Reeve, Daniel G. Patzke, Timothy R. Reeve, and William L. Patzke; one sister, Marjorie M. (Breneman) Tonnsen, Weslaco, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lila was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, and two brothers, Maurice W. Breneman and Wayne A. Breneman.
