Lester Schultz

October 23, 1935 — February 18, 2015

Lester E. Schultz, 79, Denmark, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born October 23, 1935 in the Town of Franklin, WI, son of the late William and Erna (Jerovetz) Schultz. Lester served his country in the National Guard from 1953 to 1961. He married Violet “Vi” Zima on October 12, 1957 at St. Lawrence Parish in Stangelville, and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2006. Lester owned and operated L. Schultz and Sons, Inc., along with his wife and family, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking, Aristocrat brandy and cigars. Lester was an active member of St. Therese Parish where he was on the cemetery board and ushered for many years. He also belonged to the Concerned Hearts Club and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include his four children: Donna (Mark) Hanmann, Casco, Nancy (Gene) Kinjerski, Denmark, Dennis (Karen) Schultz, Denmark, and Brian (Carrie) Schultz, Denmark; 12 grandchildren: Matt and Melanie Hanmann, Adam (Courtney), Tammy and Tom Kinjerski, Courtney (special friend-Ty), Justin (special friend-Nellie), Derek, and Connor Schultz, and Heather, Dylan and Ashlyn Schultz; sister, Verna Salzsieder, Denmark; sister-in-law, Jeanette Schultz, Denmark; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Maynard (Carolyn) Zima, Algoma. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vi; infant daughter, Brenda; daughter, Linda; brother, Harold Schultz; sister-in-law, Elena Zima; and brother-in-law, LeRoy Salzsieder. Family and friends may visit St. Therese Parish-St. Lawrence site, Stangelville on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where the visitation will conclude with a Parish Prayer Service. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
