Leroy E. Radtke

Leroy E. Radtke, 81, De Pere, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at a local hospital. He was born November 1, 1929 in Rib Lake, WI, son of the late William and Minnie (Batzer) Radtke. He graduated from Rib Lake High School, and attended classes at Wayne State University and Northwestern University. Leroy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Marie Jepsen on June 24, 1950 in Rib Lake, and she preceded him in death on September 17, 1995. He married Barbara Knapp, September 24, 1998 in California. Leroy worked in sales for Schreiber Cheese, Green Bay, and Kraft Foods in Chicago. He loved golfing and crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan, especially the Packers. He also enjoyed curling and cribbage. Leroy was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Allouez. Survivors include his wife, Barbara, De Pere; two children: Jill (Jeff) Janssen, De Pere; and Tim Radtke, De Pere; and two grandchildren: Lauren and Jessica Janssen, De Pere. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marie; sister, Lanita; and brothers, Gerald, Bill and Gehrman. Family and friends may call Monday, August 22, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2335 S. Webster Ave., Allouez. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at church, with the Rev. Peter A. Speckhard officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, is assisting the family.
