Leonard Rich

Leonard Rich, age 88, of De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home. The son of Leonard Sr. and Mary (Zellner) Rich was born June 5, 1927 in Green Bay. Len served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946 in France, and later married the former Mary Berendsen in 1960. He worked at the U.S. Post Office in De Pere for 25 years, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Abbot Pennings Council 3955 in addition to the De Pere Men’s Club. Len volunteered for the De Pere Christian Outreach and loved bowling, gardening and biking. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons: John (Donna) and their children Adam and Michael, and Andrew; a brother Joseph (Joy) and a sister-in-law Lynne Berendsen. In addition to his parents, Leonard Sr. and Mary, he was preceded in death by a brother Francis (Georgia) Neumeyer, a sister Rita Zuroski and a brother-in-law Paul Berendsen. Family and friends may visit at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere, on Tuesday, April 5, from 8:30am until 10:15am. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30am with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
