Leola (Lee) Bertha Albers, DePere, passed away on April 13, 2017. She was born in Green Bay, WI on February 9, 1929 to the late Hubert and Mayme (Watermolen) Huempfner. Leola married Bernard P. (Ben) Albers on May 13, 1950. Lee was a loving and adored wife of Ben for 66 years, a loved mother and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active 4-H leader for many years, a gifted seamstress and as her children grew older, she enjoyed a successful career with Arthur Norgaard of Birch Creek. Survivors include her husband, Ben; children, Mike (Cathy) Albers, Francis Creek and children Jesse Albers and Amy (Kevin) Beeman; Jeanne (Clark) Trousil, Reedsville and children Heather (Montana) Long and Jeremy Trousil; Nancy (John) Zimmerman, Sugar Land, TX and children Jennifer (Jeff) McCracken and Kelly Zimmerman; Mary Kay (Dale) Capelle, DePere and children Nicole (Nick) Kempen and Eric (Kim) Capelle; Dave (Polly) Albers, Ashwaubenon and children Stephanie (Tom) Krahn and Mark (Laura) Albers; Karen (Todd) Borman, Eden Prairie, MN and children Brittany and Trent, and Linda (Bill) DeWitt, DePere and children Ryan (Noami) DeWitt and Katie DeWitt. Lee also took great joy in spending time with her fifteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Gerald Huempfner, brother-in-law Robert Albers and sister-in-law Connie Huempfner, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Laverne (Harold) Kocourek, Francis (Beaver) Huempfner, sisters-in-law Sally Huempfner and Delores Albers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Andrew (Orilla) Albers and Leo (Beatrice) Albers. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, DePere, WI on Monday, April 17th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on April 18th from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at St Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr, De Pere, WI with funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. Please go to www.cotterfuneralhome.com to send online condolences to the family.
