Leo G. St. Mary

Leo G. St. Mary, 77, of Manitowoc, died of pancreatic cancer Saturday, July 28, 2012 at his residence. Leo was born on February 22, 1935 in Wausau to the late Lawrence and Philomena (Mueller) St. Mary. He attended St. James Catholic School, Wausau, and graduated from Wausau Senior High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation, Leo enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Class of 1960. Following graduation, Leo was employed as an auditor with the Wisconsin Department of State Audit. On May 14, 1966, Leo married Karen Ann Brunner at St. Kilian Catholic Church, New Franken. He was employed as a business manager at D.C. Everest School District for a number of years. In 1981, he became business manager at Manitowoc Public Utilities until his retirement in 1995. Leo is survived by his loving wife, Karen Ann and their children: Denise (John) Parry, Hortonville; Daniel St. Mary, Manitowoc; Diana (Scott) Summers, Platteville; two grandsons Ryan Parry and Owen Summers; two sisters: Lois Fergot, Chula Vista, CA; and Marcella (Melvin) Wisniewski, Salem, IL; mother-in-law: Isabella Brunner, New Franken; brother-in-law: Leon (Cheryl) Brunner, Green Bay; sister-in-law: Mary Ellen (Todd) Rueckl, Green Bay; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Corinne (Robert) Mosher; two brothers-in-law: Gordon Fergot and Douglas Brunner; and father-in-law: Walter Brunner. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 N. 14th Ave. on Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, WI on Friday, August 3, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Friday with Rev. David Pleier officiating. Interment will be at St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery, New Franken.
