Lenore K Skubal

Lenore Skubal, age 88 of Denmark, reunited with the love of her life on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1930 in Kewaunee to the late Louis and Katherine (Walecka) Hruska. On October 7, 1950 she married Les Skubal at St. Lawrence Parish in Stangleville. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2011.
Lenore was a loving, caring soul. Her love of nature found her caring for all living creatures, strays, injured birds, even insects found her to be very considerate. Her kindness touched many, her radiant smile brightened up those around her, friends at Bellevue Senior Living will miss her, as well as the birds of Bellevue. Her motto was “death is a part of life” and her kindness touched many as she stayed with them until the end, opening her heart and home to many as they took that final journey. Her beauty inside and outside made her a finalist of the 1949 Alice in Dairyland. Lenore’s family knew best of her loving and kind nature, her love of her family was above all else, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Deborah (Douglas Lichtfeld) Skubal, Susan (Mike Sundquist) Skubal, Thomas (Debbie) Skubal, Patricia (Daniel) Gray and Mark (Maria) Skubal, grandchildren; Sarah Gray, MD, Eric (Emily) Gray, Tristan “TJ” Skubal and Paige “Rose” Skubal, and her beloved cat, Pookie. She is further survived by a brother, Robert Hruska as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, and her husband, Les.

Family and friends may gather beginning at 3:00pm on Sunday, December 2, 2018 until 5:00pm, and again 9:00am, Monday, December 3, 2018 at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty Road R, Denmark until 11:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am at All Saints Catholic Church, 125 St. Claude Street, Denmark, following the visitation with Fr. Bill O’Brien officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family, online condolences can be made at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations will be forwarded to various nature and animal organizations, near and dear to Mom’s heart.
