Lee Peter Roffers

July 28, 1934 — October 14, 2018

Leslie Peter (Lee) Roffers, age 84, of De Pere, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was born on July 28, 1934 in De Pere to the late Sylvan and Mary (Freibel) Roffers.

He was a United States Army Veteran who served in Korea. He graduated from St Norbert College via the G.I. Bill. He also earned a Master’s Degree in remedial reading from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. As a teacher, he taught high school English in Denmark and Green Bay. As a tutor he used those skills in the Green Bay prison system and later as a tutor of English as a Second Language (ESL) via Green Bay Literacy Council. He tutored for over 20 years. He had a student who became very special in our father's life attending special life events with his student's extended family. Lee was also very proud to have been given the privilege of participating in The Honor Flight for Korean War Veterans in September 2017, for which our sister Leigh attended the welcome home ceremony.

He is survived by his children, Barbara Iaquinto, Leigh (Tim) McHugh, and Patricia (David) Gervasi and his grandchildren: Thomas Roffers, Sam Gervasi and Grace Iaquinto. Preceding him in death are his parents, and his sons: Dan Joseph Roffers and Douglas Kenneth Roffers.

In keeping with Lee's wishes, no public services will be held. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.

The family wishes to extend special a thank you and gratitude to Jim Seroogy, Roxy Doucha, Ruth Bloessel and John Iaquinto, MD as well as the staffs at Manor Care and Unity Hospice for the wonderful care given to our father. We are grateful to all of you who were his friends, neighbors, and family.

Memorials may be sent to any Military Veteran's organization, as was his wish, should you so choose.
