Kenneth Martin Scray, age 84, De Pere, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. Ken was born to the late Cornelius (Nels) and Mabel (Kornowske) Scray on September 17, 1929 in De Pere, and was a lifelong area resident. Ken served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. Ken worked for his parents at the Scray Stone Quarry, Milprint, and was employed by the City of De Pere in the Street Department, retiring after 25 years of service. Ken had a love of the outdoors, was an avid hunter, enjoyed bus trips and traveling to Las Vegas. Survivors include his fiancé, Carol Jacobe, children: Mitch (Vicki) Scray, Julie (Al) Koltz, Mark (Sandy) Scray, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by an aunt, Clara Markie of Maplewood, MN and many cousins. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius (Nels) and Mabel Scray, his grandparents: William (Nels) and Nettie Scray, and Gus and Mary (Perret) Kornowske; aunts and uncles. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere on Sunday, September 22, from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. A prayer service will be held at 7:00pm with pastoral minister Steve Donovan officiating. Full military honors will follow the service. Interment at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere, at 1:00pm on Monday.
