Kenneth J. Krueger, 93, De Pere, went to meet his Lord, Jesus, on August 10, 2011. He was born on March 2, 1918 in Appleton to the late Lydia (Greb) and John Krueger. Ken enlisted in the United States Navy in March 1937 and served on the USS Arizona for 4 years, being discharged from the ship prior to December 7, 1941. Upon retiring from the Navy in 1957 as Chief Petty Officer, Ken was employed by the State of Wisconsin at the Green Bay Correctional Institution and retired from there after 23 years of service. Ken is preceded in death by his first love, Margaret Hannon, whom he married in January of 1946. She passed away in 1980. He is survived by his spouse of 27 years, Florence Pierce-Krueger, Ann Hannon (Green Bay), and sister-in-law Imogene Krueger (Green Bay), nieces, nephews and special friends. Ken was a member of the DePere Retired Men's Club for 52 years, and a member of Christ Alone Church, Allouez. Ken and Florence resided at Renaissance Assisted Living in West DePere and enjoyed the thoughtful care they received there. Unity Hospice was also recently involved in his care and comfort for which we are thankful. Visitation will be TODAY, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Avenue, DePere from 4:00 - 5:30pm with service to follow at 5:30. Rev. Dr. Ted Tromble will conduct a time of praise and celebration for Ken's homegoing. Light refreshments will follow the service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
