Kenneth Francis Hettmann

August 2, 1928 — December 3, 2021

Kenneth Francis Hettmann passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021 with his family by his side.  He was born at home on August 2, 1928 to Edward and Martha (Maternoski) Hettmann in the Town of Glenmore.  On April 23, 1949, Kenneth married Agnes VandenBush at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt.  Agnes preceded him in death on December 2, 2018.

Ken and Agnes farmed in the town of Glenmore for 41 years while raising their 6 children upon retirements they built their home on their farmland.  For 16 years Ken and Agnes vacationed in the South Padre Islands and his favorite getaway place for 38 years was his cottage on Thunder Lake. Ken was proud to be an usher at St Mary Church, Ledgeview.

Kenneth is survived by his children; David (Nancy Jameson), Mark (Alice Thayes), Darrel (Linda Bougie), Steve (Christy Stodall), Mary (Jim Cisler) and Jeff (Kathy Higgins); grandchildren: Michael Hettmann, Daniel (Jennifer) Hettmann, Ann (John) Noskowiak, Joshua (Jennifer) Hettmann, Sara (Jeff) Reynolds, Keith (Nicole) Hettmann, Eric (Laura) Hettmann, Jenny (Josh) Yuhasey, Matthew (Sara) Hettmann, Melissa (fiancé Brady) Hettmann, Zachery (fiancé Yan) Hettmann, Emily (fiancé Alex) Hettmann, April (Bill) Sauer, Brett (Marta) Cisler, Lindsey (Dan) Unright, Nicole (Adam) Lemmens; great-grandchildren; Audrey, Allison, Samantha, David, Drew, Peyton, Greg, Rachel, Caleb, Lily, Bennett, Vivian, Noah, Isaac, Charlotte, Claire, Joyce, Jayne, Kaiya, Cora, Mirabelle, Michael, Ian, Miranda, Laura, Hadley, Evelyn and Baby Hettmann.

He is further survived by two sisters: Laverne Kane and Marlene (Jim) DeMoulin; sisters-in-law: Eileen Bredael and Jane Mleziva.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; grandson Jesse Hettmann; his parents: Edward and Martha Hettmann; parents-in-law: Martin and Anna Vanden Bush; a brother: Robert (Marion) Hettmann; sister Elaine (Pat) Kane; brother-in-law Bob Kane; Agnes’ family: Harold (Rita) Vanden Bush, Emerita (Hank) Hinnendael, Lloyd (Porkey) Bredael and Wencil Mleziva.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, December 7, from 9:00 am to 11:45 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm with Fr. Mike Ingold officiating.  Interment will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery Glenmore. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
