Keith Vilas Vander Putten

Keith Vilas Vander Putten, age 59, of Crivitz, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 13, at his childhood home with family and loved ones by his side after battling cancer and other health issues. He was born September 4, 1964, the child of Wayne and Barbara Vander Putten. He graduated from Abbot Pennings High School and attended the Police Academy, beginning a career in law enforcement, mostly with the Spencer Police Department, where he worked until retirement.

After retirement, he moved to Crivitz, where he lived in the family cottage enjoying many nights by the campfire and time outdoors. Keith was an avid hunter and enjoyed a good western on TV.

Survived by his children: Dakota Vander Putten, Clay Vander Putten, Brittney Marquardt, Brooke Marquardt, granddaughter Hale Domanico, mother Barbara Vander Putten, sister Mary (Michael) Schoeller and their son Daniel Schoeller, fiancé Melissa Fillinger, mothers of his children: Helen Marquardt and Stacy Moreland, two aunts: Mary Chapman and Margaret Vander Putten Soffian.

Preceded in death by his father, Wayne Vander Putten, and many other aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Friday, April 19, from 5pm until the time of service at 7pm.

He’s now done suffering and is sitting around the campfire in the sky with his dad (who I’m sure is poking at the campfire with a stick) and other friends who preceded him, telling stories and laughing with them.
