Keith L. Fawcett

July 15, 1931 — June 5, 2022

Keith Fawcett, 90, of Green Bay passed away peacefully Sunday June 5, 2022.

Keith was born July 15, 1931, in Iowa City, Iowa to the late Raymond and Luora Fawcett. He attended college (ending with Masters in time) after high school, and one summer went to work at Yellowstone Park. There he met the love of his life, Mary. She called it after their third date that he was the one for her. He proposed the end of that summer. They married June 16, 1956. In 2021 they celebrated 65 years together. They shared a love, that was just like those written about in books and movies.

In 1969 they settled in Green Bay where Keith worked as a high school music teacher. Keith was able to fulfill his dream of opening a Frame and Gift shop (Gallery K in De Pere). There he was able to use his artistic ability to create beautiful, framed creations. After they both decided to close the store and retire, they enjoyed traveling together. Keith was always up for a new adventure, as he had been a Boy Scout camp director at Gardner Dam. He was proud of his Eagle Scout status.

Keith kept busy in retirement also by volunteering for: Learning in retirement, Rpaws animal rehab, and behind the scenes work for The Dance Company. His children want you to remember him for his love of the great outdoors, quiet strength, sense of humor and animals, especially Toby and Abby the goats.

He will be missed by many as he had a way of influencing others to be their best. Keith was a kind and nonjudgmental man, but never ask a question on a Sunday as that was the day of dissertation in the Fawcett household. Also, Classical music day. Many past students would agree he was a fair but firm teacher and enjoyed his classes.

Keith was preceded in Death by his wife Mary and parents, his In-Laws Charles and Marie Nelson, and infant daughter Mary Jane.

Survived by his, Children Scott, Todd, Meghan (Joe) Marks, Grandchildren Brittany (Jared) Hanson and Jacob. Great-Grandchildren Levi and Lyla

Our family would like to thank Bellevue Retirement Center for being able to keep Keith at apartment. Also thank you to Unity Hospice for the compassionate care and keeping him comfortable until him passing.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held later this year. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
