Kathryn M. Keyser

Kathryn M. Keyser, 56, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday evening, January 17, 2012. She was born June 10, 1955 in Green Bay, daughter of Gerald and Joan (Clarke) Keyser. Kathryn was a 1973 graduate of East De Pere High School. She graduated from University of Wisconsin - Stephens Point in 1977, and earned an advanced degree from U.W. - Oshkosh. Kathryn married N. J. Flanigan on September 3, 2011, following a 20 year courtship. She was employed over 20 years with Bay Motor Transport, retiring recently as Vice-President of Operations. Kathryn was proud of the work she had done helping develop the business, and was integral in the success of the company. She was not only an avid gardener, Kathryn was a master gardener just like her father, Gerald. She was quite adept at finding and identifying new plants to add to her gardens. Kathryn and N.J. enjoyed riding their bikes together. She loved music very much and had attended hundreds of concerts. She also treasured spending time and traveling with family and friends. Kathryn is survived by her husband, N. J. Flanigan; her parents, Gerald and Joan Keyser of De Pere; a sister, Karen (William) Allen and their daughter, Margaret of Wheaton, Ill.; and a brother, Jeff Keyser of Green Bay. She is further survived by the members of the Flanigan family: Marti Lee Vandervest; Patty Flanigan Pete Holstad; Kate Holstad; Terry Jim Guay; Emily, Derek, Mason Aluia; Evan Guay; Tim Flanigan Elizabeth Kremer; and Helen Flanigan. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norbert J. and Martha (Troxell) Flanigan, Sr. Friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home Cremation Services, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. to celebrate Kathryn’s life and share memories. Online condolences may be made at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to assist with medical expenses.
