Kathryn Ann Murphy

July 26, 1941 — July 20, 2019

Kathryn Ann Murphy, 77, of Green Bay was born to eternal life on July 20, 2019 surrounded by her family at home. She was born on July 26, 1941 to the late Howard and Leona (Chlebowski) Douville of Green Bay. Kathy attended St. Willebrord Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1959. On August 4, 1962, Kathy married Joseph Murphy at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. With the exception of two years in Wausau WI, Kathy and Joe made their home for 57 years in Green Bay.

Kathy devoted her time to raising her family and volunteering in the community and her church over the years. She was a sustaining member of Service League of Green Bay and served on two board positions. She was active with the United Way of Brown County on the Admissions and Allocations Committees. As a current member of Resurrection Catholic Parish, she served as an Officer on the Parish Council for several years and loved to be a lector at Mass for over 40 years. Kathy was co-owner and Vice President of Seaway Printing Company in Green Bay for 11 years with her husband Joe. After the company was sold, Kathy went on to work at Associated Bank as a Corporate Trust Accountant in their Trust Department until she retired in 2009.

Kathy was an avid tennis player. She was a creative artist, piano player and sang in the original St. Norbert’s Choir. Her favorite vacations were in Minocqua, WI, Marco Island, FL and most recently Ireland. Her greatest joy was her family, the beautiful smiles of her grandchildren and sharing in the lives of her family and friends. Kathy’s beautiful smile, kindness and warm hugs will be missed by all who knew her. She built a life that centered around the love of Jesus Christ and her beautiful Catholic faith. She will be also greatly missed by her Poochon Teddy.

Kathy is survived by her husband Joe, and three children: Joe (Anne) Madison, WI, Molly (John Moroney) Grayslake, IL and Kerry (Dan Rose), De Pere, WI; and nine grandchildren: Ryan, Caitlin, Kyle and Clare Murphy, John and Kelly Moroney, Ben, Ellie and Maddy Rose. She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara (Wayne) Hintz, Tomahawk, WI, and Virginia (Lyle) Wickman, Howard, WI; and her brothers: Richard (Mary) Douville, Green Bay, WI and James (Gail) Douville, Green Bay, WI, and many nieces and nephews in the Green Bay and surrounding areas.
