Kathleen M. (Zumstein) Swink

January 23, 1933 — July 10, 2010

Kathleen M. (Zumstein) Swink, 77, Maribel, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, following a short hospital stay. She was born January 23, 1933 in Mauston WI, daughter to the late Albert and Stella (Mullen) Zumstein. She graduated from Elroy High School. On June 19, 1954 she married Clarence Swink, in Elroy Wisconsin. They were married for 56 years. After moving to Green Bay, Kathy worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, in the In-Patient department, retiring in 1988. Following her retirement, she dedicated her time to her family and enjoying every loving moment spent with each grandchild. In 1995, Kathy and her husband moved to the Maribel area where they became members of St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown. Kathy enjoyed crocheting and knitting but especially loved to read and shop. Her German potato salad will be greatly missed by all. Kathy will be fondly remembered for her genuine kindness and tender heartedness. She was a tough lady, enduring a lot of pain, without ever complaining. Even in her last moments her concern was for her family and not for herself. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Clarence; four children: Mike (Dawn) Swink, Wrightstown, Patti (Dennis) Schmitt, Maribel, Tom (Karen) Swink, De Pere, and Mary Swink (Dennis Rocque), Menominee, MI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Dorothy and Helen; and 1 brother, Edward. Family and friends may call Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. James Catholic Church-Cooperstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
