Kathleen Elliott

April 16, 1940 — February 24, 2022

On February 24 Kathleen “Kay” Elliott passed away peacefully in the loving environment of her home. Kay was 81 years young. She was the fourth daughter of Mona (Deax) and William Clinton Shaw and was known to her family as “Billie”. She was born in Brownsville Texas. Her father was active in several military campaigns which brought them to many different cities and states throughout the south. During WWII her family settled in Florida. After the war, her family moved to Orlando where she attended and graduated from Boone High School. After graduation, she joined the United States Navy and achieved the rate of Yeomen third class. On a blind date while stationed in Pensacola she met the love of her life, Ronald Elliott. They married shortly after meeting and before he was sent to sea.

They relocated to Pennsylvania where Ron went to work for Mack Trucks. While Ron was working, she was a stay-at-home mom. Several years later they moved back to Orlando where Kay’s family was located. After several more years they moved to New York and in the years to come lived in Illinois and South Dakota. After the children graduated, she and Ron moved to Green Bay Wisconsin where they lived for over 30 years. After Ron passed away, she went to work as a receptionist at a local bank, making many friends with her co-workers and the customers. She left the bank and went to work at a local hotel where she made many more friends before her retirement. She loved to travel to new places and took a trip with her daughter to the Caribbean and she said it was the best trip of her life. Early in her life, she loved playing golf with Ron and the kids. She loved doing crossword puzzles and taking trips to Door County. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making clothing for her granddaughters. She was always up for an adventure. Her laugh was contagious, and she loved a good game of cards, which we spent more time laughing than playing. She was very active in her church and also enjoyed volunteering. In the last several years she made her home with her daughter and moved to Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Debra Warner, and her granddaughters Kali Warner and Melissa (Brian) Galica of Texas. She had four beautiful great-grandchildren, Emily, Blythe, Leo Joesph, and Ruby. She is also survived by her son, Lorne Elliott. Grammy loved being with all her grandchildren and will be greatly missed. She is also survived by Ron’s sister, Bonnie (Roger) Kennedy, and their children Craig and Karen. She has many nieces and nephews that still live in the Florida area.

Kay was proceeded in death by her parents Mona and William and her sisters, Tat, Connie, and Bobbi Jo and their husbands. She lost the love of her life 23 years ago and never a day went by that she didn’t talk about him and how much she missed him. We take great comfort knowing that they are together again for eternity. Kay took great pleasure in life and had many sayings that she always shared when others sought advice. One of our favorites was “you can always get happy in the same pants you got mad in”, and it was the truth.

The family would like to thank Drs. Theobald and Sherman for the wonderful care she has received. We know that a light went out on Thursday the 24th here on earth but has become brighter for us to follow in the future. We love you Grammy very much. Until we meet again.

Private services will be held, with Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Allouez. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
