Karla S. Drewiske

Karla, 60, passed away March 5, 2022 at Lawless Hospice Center, Mequon, WI from ovarian cancer.

Karla was born February 10, 1962 to Betty Hendricks Drewiske and the late Roger Drewiske. She graduated from DePere High School in 1980, where she played basketball for the “Redbirds” for all four years. Karla went to NWTC, getting a degree as an Operating Technician. She worked many years in General Surgery and many on the “Heart Team”, which she enjoyed most. The majority of her work years were at Columbia/St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon.

Karla was a dog lover, always having two westies around. When they passed, she always had a pocket of treats for all the neighbor's dogs.

Karla is survived by her mother Betty Drewiske; her brothers Bob (friend Jenny), Scott (Jodie); her uncle and aunt Leo and Kate Hendricks; a niece and nephew and many cousins and friends.

Karla was preceded in death by her father Roger; her grandparents Elizabeth and Herbert Hendricks and Sophie and Henry Drewiske.

Special thanks to her cousin Bob Doeren, Durango Co, who chatted with her bi-weekly, her neighbor and dear friend Gail, her co-workers in the O.R. who kept in touch, to the nurses in the ICU, especially Jean who was so helpful and to everyone in hospice who were so comforting.
