June Marian Johnson

June M. Johnson was born March 25, 1926 in Seneca, Illinois to the late Arthur and Bertha Wicks, and passed away May 16, 2022. She married Verle Johnson on May 29, 1948 and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandchild.

Her youngest brother, Kent (Joan) Wicks, age 93, survives, as well as well as her 4 children: Kristine (Sam) Resor, Kathie (Ron) Giuliani, Keith (Diane) Johnson, Ken (Sue) Johnson, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

June graduated from Augustana Nursing School in Chicago, Illinois where she also held the title of Nurse Cadet during WWII. She raised her family of 4 children on the Johnson Family Farm in rural Marseilles, Illinois. Eventually she continued her full-time nursing career in Ottawa, Illinois at Ryburn Memorial and then Ottawa Community Hospital.

June was very active in her Norwegian Community at the Stavanger Lutheran Church as she raised her family and beyond. She lived a long, dedicated life with family, friends, church and the family farm. Her faith has been pure to the end.

Private family graveside services will be held with burial at the Stavanger Lutheran Church Cemetery, Seneca, IL. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care of Denmark, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
