Joyce Rita (Pahnke) Vander Kinter went to rest with her Lord and Savior on November 25, 2013. She was 87 years young. Joyce was born on September 17, 1926 in Green Bay to the late John and Ethel (Fredricksen) Pahnke. Joyce married Wallace Vander Kinter at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pine Grove on March 3, 1945. Joyce and Wallace took over the Pahnke family farm in 1955 and remained farming until their son’s took over. Joyce and Wallace enjoyed many years of polka dancing with the Happy Hoppers. They were able to travel as salespersons for Super Crost Seed and celebrated 61 years of wedded bliss when Wallace passed away in 2006. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she was part of the Ladies Aid. Joyce enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. She loved to shop and was considered a shop-o-holic (just ask her granddaughters)!! She truly enjoyed having the grand and great-grandchildren over and always spoiled them with treats and trinkets! She is survived by her 7 sons: Lyle (Kim), Two Rivers; John (Lindy), Denmark; Wayne (Karen), Clyde, both of Green Bay; Loren, DePere; Alan (Elieen), Denmark; and Glen (Terry), Green Bay. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 11 step-great grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way. She is further survived by by one sister-in-law Bernadine Vander Kinter; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Wallace; her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Elmer and Emma Vander Kinter; 2 brother-in-laws, Merlin and Norman; a daughter-in-law, Betty; a step-grandson, John Paul Bowe; and a niece, Lois. The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Joyce. A huge THANK YOU also to the girls who helped take care of Joyce and made it possible for her to remain at home: Lissa Miller, Angela Blaser, Sandra Soto, along with grand-daughters Daisy, Sarah, Brenda, and Jenny.
