Joyce Elizabeth (Boehm) Marchant

August 9, 1931 — April 4, 2016

Joyce Marchant of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 04, 2016 while resting in her chair. She was anxious to meet her maker Jesus Christ and anxious to be reunited with her husband John, her son David, and her many extended family members and friends who had preceded her in death. The daughter of the late Charles and Erma Boehm was born on August 9, 1931 in Green Bay. Joyce attended St. Joseph Academy where she was the class author. After graduation she was employed in various jobs until the time she married John Marchant. She’d want to be remembered mostly as a “Loving Christian Women” that was married to a strong Christian man, John Patrick Marchant, where they together raised 8 strong, loving Christian children: Karen Marchant, Brian (Heather) Marchant, David (Debra) Marchant, Mary Jo (Ken) Kriescher, Kathie (Brian) Kummet, Connie (Russ) Huxford, Tom (Kathy) Marchant, and Rob (Amy) Marchant. Joyce spent all of her life building the Kingdom of God! Joyce’s FAITH and her FAMILY were her life. She was involved in many committees; too numerous to list. She was also the secretary for the Catholic Diocese for many years. Always devoted to her husband, her children, and her faith, she was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere. In addition to her family, whom she loved dearly, she enjoyed being a servant to her savior Jesus Christ in many ways; always seeded in prayer; even up to her death you would find her knitting dish cloths for the needy. Mom loved her McDonald’s morning coffee, playing bridge with her friends, picking blackberries at the cottage, and swinging in her back yard. She loved singing silly songs from her childhood like “The Missions” and “Life is a Bubble” and teaching her children and grandchildren skipping songs. When dad was alive they enjoyed watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sporting and school events. Survivors include Joyce and John’s children and spouses, 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law JoAnn (William) Miller. In addition to her parents and her husband John, she was preceded in death by their son David, brother Donald Boehm, and a sister Dolores Boehm. Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere, on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 9:00am until 10:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Joyce and Jack’s name.
