Joseph F. Diny, 79, Greenleaf, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 after a battle with cancer. He was born on December 29, 1931, in Greenleaf, to the late Frank and Alma (Starr) Diny. Joe served his country in the U. S. Army. On September 15, 1956 he married Gladys Dollar at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, De Pere. Joe farmed in Greenleaf with his family his entire life. He was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and School in Greenleaf. Joe enjoyed his spare time fishing and gardening and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Survivors include his wife, Gladys; his children, Debra (Tom) Scott; Ken (Cyndie) Diny; Karen Wiltgen; Donna (Wayne) Krueger; Janet Kubsh; Bonnie (Steven) Nockerts; Roger (Ellen) Diny; Rick (Laurie) Diny; Lisa Leurquin; Gary (Katrina) Diny; Julie (Darrell) Yunk; Sarah (Aaron) Smith; Jennifer (Wendell) Zemple; 35 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marie Lehman; Robert (Marian) Diny; Thomas (Angel) Diny; sister-in-law, Dolores Diny, many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Diny; son-in-law, Donald Leurquin; siblings, Florence (Norbert) Kersten; Clarence (Marie) Diny; Paul Lehman; Marcella (Vincent) Murphy; Norbert Diny; Michael Diny; Theresa Diny; Cecilia Diny. Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, from 3 to 8p.m. A parish wake service will be at 7p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Mary site, 2212 Day St., Greenleaf, after 9a.m. until the hour of mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church with the Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken and Rev. Robert Kabat concelebrating. Burial in the church cemetery.
