John S. Jahnke

John S. Jahnke, 47, Wrightstown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 19, 2012. He was born in Green Bay on August 23, 1965 to Alton and Nancy (Landry) Jahnke. He attended public schools in Wrightstown. John married Lori Stewart on April 9, 1988 in Green Bay. He was previously employed at Warehouse Specialists, Green Bay, and most recently had worked at New Horizons Dairy, Wrightstown. He enjoyed being outdoors – doing yard work, and hunting and fishing. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and loved watching NASCAR races. John was a real go-getter, going beyond what was expected of him. He was always helping others in need - his family as well as his friends and co-workers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. John is survived by a son, Joshua (special friend, Jenn Gellin) Jahnke; a daughter, Jaki (special friend, Will Hill); grandchildren: Braydin and Kaydin; his parents: Alton and Nancy Jahnke; and John’s special friend, Vickie Liesner. He is also survived by sisters and brothers: Debra (Joseph) Baril, Cindy (Mike) Cleven, Karen Baker (friend Lee), Jim (Kelly) Jahnke, Deana (Randy) Carter, Laurie (Kent) Janssen; goddaughter, Sheena Baril; former wife, Lori (Brad) Ehnerd, Wrightstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer, in 2004; paternal grandparents: Louis and Leona Jahnke; maternal grandparents: Alden and Jeannette Landry; an uncle, Myron Jahnke; and an aunt, Yvonne Kurowski. Visitation of family and friends of John Jahnke will be held at DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St., Wrightstown, on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with Fr. Roderick “Roberto” Fenzl, O.Praem officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. John’s family would like to express their thanks to the ICU staff at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, and the TLC staff at Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital for the professional and compassionate care they provided John, and the kindness and support they gave to his family. John is now reunited with his daughter, Jennifer, resting together in heaven.
