John Randolph Scherb

John Randolph Scherb, 59, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010. He was born February 11, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Albert H. and Charlotte (Randolph) Scherb. John was raised in Lake Forest, Illinois, and graduated from Lake Forest Academy in 1969. He attended Dean Junior College in Worchester, Massachusetts. From childhood, his summers were spent in Ellison Bay, Door County, Wisconsin. It was there he learned his love of the water, boating, sailing, water-skiing and fishing. He was equally joyful on the golf course. He moved from the Chicago area to Green Bay in 1985, pursuing his career in mortgage brokerage and banking in the Fox River Valley. Whether in business or personal relationships, John’s focus was on others and this compassion was his way. Survivors include his cherished daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” E. Scherb of Green Bay; beloved step-daughter, Crystal Pranke of Green Bay; loving sister, Julie S. Kearful of Littleton, Colorado; faithful brother, Albert H. “Bert” Scherb, Jr. (Judy) of Chicago, Illinois; loving nieces: Patsy (Paul) Hartmann of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Amy (P.J.) Wharton of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and Mandy (Mark) Meyer of Fox Point, Wisconsin; and loving nephew, Jeb (Suzy) Scherb of Winnetka, Illinois. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service on Saturday, May 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or National Alliance on Mental Illness.
