John Mcglone

It was a cold evening, November 12, 2018 when 75-year-old John Edward McGlone sat snug in his bed watching Magnum PI as he went to meet his mother and father Edward and Dorothea McGlone, father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Doris Leiterman and previous wife Sharen Lohrbach, in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Sheri McGlone, son Shawn McGlone, and daughter Shannon (Jason) Moore, along with three grandchildren he adored, Jorden and Tayler Moore, and Josie McGlone. Further survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Carol and Ronald Jacques, Tom Leiterman, Judy and Myron Mertens, Kathy and Bruce Balza, Pat Leiterman and Dave Leiterman, as well as many other loving family and friends. Born on Jan. 5, 1943 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this young man traveled with his family to Yorba Linda, CA where he found a love for golf. It all happened in ’62, when “The Legend” began at Santa Ana College making headlines. John continued playing golf for Arizona State, and became the 2nd Place Southern California Amateur in ’64. John graduated from Cal State L.A. with a B.A. in Science. He went on to earn 18-hole in ones and several Club Championships, where he was an honorary member at Yorba Linda Country Club. Just last year, he was thrilled to shoot his age, 74 at 74 years old! What an accomplishment. He served his country in the US Army from 1968-1970. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing John McGlone, knew what a fun, unconditional loving man he was.
Family and friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Thursday, November 15, from 3:30pm until 6:30pm. A prayer service will conclude the evening at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, corner of Lourdes Ave and Suburban Drive, De Pere, on Friday, from 9:00am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Benny Jacob, O.Praem officiating.
