John "Jack" Lambert

April 5, 1926 — January 17, 2011

John P. “Jack” Lambert, 84, De Pere, passed away January 17, 2011. He was born in De Pere on April 5, 1926 to the late Peter and Frieda (Vande Leifford) Lambert. Jack served his country in the U.S. Airforce as Sgt. First Class, during World War II, flying many missions over Europe in a B-17 as a Ball Turrett Gunner. On October 6, 1951 he married Jeanie Pranke in De Pere. Jack and Jeanie had a loving, exciting and adventurous marriage for 59 years traveling back and forth from Florida to Wisconsin. Residing in Florida for 10 years making long lasting friendships. They moved back to De Pere in 1986. If you were a friend of Jack’s – you were his friend forever! Jack was a member of the Isaac Walton League, Ducks Unlimited, avid deer hunter and fisherman. He was also a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Holy Name Club and Ushers Club .Jack worked for Selmer Construction Company for many years and was a member of Masons Local #3 of Green Bay. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will always be loved and missed but remain in our hearts forever. Jack is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Jeanie and their three wonderful sons of whom he was so proud. Daniel John, Chicago, IL; Steven John (Becky), De Pere, WI; Joseph P. (Hilary), Wrightstown. He so loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Carrie (David) Griffiths, Austin, TX; Joseph Lambert and great-granddaughter, Mikela, Brooklynn, NY; Jill (Russ) Patton and great-grandchildren, Sam and Dakota, Marinette,WI; Janelle French, Green Bay; Abbie and Tyler Lambert, De Pere; also many close and loving nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his sister, Adele Dwyer, De Pere and Marge Dozier, Pt. Pleasant, New Jersey; also brothers-in-law, Bill (Rosemary) Pranke; Joseph (Pat) Pranke; sister-in-law, Joanie Steckart; all of De Pere. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Frieda Lambert; sister, Kate (Norbert) Martin; brother, Bob (Lorraine) Lambert; brothers-in-law, Jeff Dwyer; Tom Dozier; John R. Steckart; sister-in-law, Faith (Len) Johnsen. Family and friends may call on Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Drive, Town of Ledgeview, from 9:00am until 10:45am. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday at the church with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Thank you for the kindness, care and consideration given to Jack by Fr. Jack Harper, Unity Hospice and Unity Residence who were so understanding and loving. You will always be remembered.
