John E Schultz

John Edward Schultz, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 24, 2017. John was born on April 18, 1959, to Jeanette (Goessl) and the late Harold Schultz. He graduated from Denmark High School in 1977. Following graduation, John attended UW-Madison’s Farm Industry Short Course. After completing his certification, John pursued a career in farming, and later transitioned to work with Carew Concrete Supply. John also worked as a school bus driver for the Denmark School District. John was passionate about volunteering. For many years, he served as the General Club Leader for the Bolt Buccaneers 4-H Club, past member of the Kewaunee County Fair Board, past board member of the Kewaunee County 4-H adult leaders, held several positions with the Denmark FFA Alumni, and served as a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, John enjoyed playing cards. His favorites included Sheepshead and Seven Up-Seven Down. John’s friends and family will miss his sense of humor and comedic behavior. He is survived by his four children: daughter Melissa, Green Bay; son Ryan (Sarah) and their children, Colton and Dylan, Luxemburg; son Joe and his child, Jackson, Green Bay; son Tyler, Appleton; his mother, Jeanette Schultz, Denmark; siblings, Dianne (Donald) Lambrecht, Tisch Mills; Julie Schultz (David Schlies), Denmark; sister-in-law, Carol Schultz, Greenleaf; and mother of his children, Mary Schultz. He is further survived by aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and many friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Harold Schultz; brother, James Schultz; grandparents, aunt, uncles, and other relatives. Family and friends are welcome at Cotter Funeral Home-Denmark Chapel, 536 County Road R, Denmark, on Friday, April 28, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00am until 10:30am. Friends are then requested to meet at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark for an 11:00am Mass with Fr. William O’Brien officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. After being challenged for many years with Cerebral Ataxia, John is now at peace. His family thanks the staff of Angels on Arcadian Assisted Living, the City of De Pere Fire/Rescue, and the team at St. Vincent Hospital’s Emergency Room. They would also like to thank his Denmark neighbors and friends for their help over the years with John.
