John Clement Bildings

John C. Bildings, 92, Ledgeview, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2017. He was born on October 7, 1924 in Green Bay to the late William and Frances (Agternkamp) Bildings. John was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic School in De Pere. On May 28, 1952 he married Idabell E. Ambrosius at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. Together they farmed and raised their family. He enjoyed his farm papers and magazines. He always had a story to share. One of Mom and Dad’s favorite things to do was to ride their Kabota to look over the years crops and travel through the woods hoping to see some wildlife. John loved feeding and identifying the variety of birds that visited his numerous feeders. John appreciated the little things, was content and respectful for the life he lived. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids and great-grandkids as they grew. John was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ledgeview. He will always be remembered for carrying a rosary in his bib overall pocket and saying his prayers for various intentions. Surviving John is his wife, Idabell and his children, Donald (friend Gloria), Mark (Ruth), Robert (Treve), Dorothy (Dennis) Cashman, Joseph (Carol), Raymond (Paula); one son-in-law, Kevin Sommerfeld; grandchildren, Nick, Brenda (Josh), Billy (Alee), Lindsey (Zane), Lacey, Beth, Todd (Hilary), Laura (Brett), Emily, Elizabeth and Johnny; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Ava, Zoey, Addyson, Izabell, and Bennett; sisters and brother, Rosemary Warpinski, Camilla (Cliff) Holl, Clayton Bildings. Also survived by his in-laws, Betty Ambrosius, Florence (William) Lancelle, George Ambrosius, Elizabeth Van Hoff and Bernard Ambrosius; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Sommerfeld; son, Kenneth; along with his parents; brother-in-law, Richard Warpinski; sister-in-law, Gladys Bildings; mother and father-in-law, George (Matilda) Ambrosius; in-laws, Theodore Ambrosius, Norbert Van Hoff, John (Hattie) Van Wychen and Doris Ambrosius. Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 8:30am to 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
