Joan Waterstreet

February 7, 1940 — August 12, 2023

Joan Douglas Waterstreet passed away the morning of August 12, 2023 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center in DePere, WI. A memorial service will take place on Oct. 2, at 11 am at Ascension Lutheran Church, Green Bay, WI. Visitation will begin at 10 am at Ascension. Private interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.


Joan was born February 7, 1940 in Milwaukee, WI, and grew up in her family’s home in Wauwatosa. She attended Wauwatosa High School, graduating in 1958 and the University of Wisconsin Madison, earning a Bachelors Degree in Economics in 1963. Joan then married William Edward Waterstreet of Kewaunee, WI, and they had three children.


Joan was an avid card and mah jong player, and she enjoyed reading, puzzles, knitting, quilting and serving in her church.


Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Edward Douglas and Vera June Douglas (nee Junkermann), brother, Charles Edward Douglas and son, Brian Douglas Waterstreet. She is survived by husband, William E. Waterstreet, married for 60 years, daughter Ellen Marie Stelzle and son-in-law, Michael Stelzle and grandchildren Rebekah Stelzle and Lukas Stelzle; and daughter Susan Waterstreet Glauner and son-in-law Mark Glauner and grandchildren Samuel Glauner and Ryan Glauner.


Memorials in Joan’s memory can be sent to Ascension Lutheran Church, 2911 Libal St., Green Bay, WI 54301 or the American Diabetes Association.
