Joan L. Danen

Joan L. Danen, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024. Joan was born on May 15, 1950 in De Pere to Donald and Alice (Van Noie) Van De Hei. She attended West De Pere High School and graduated with the class of 1968. Joan married Chris Danen on August 20, 1970 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

As a lifelong learner, Joan attended college classes for many years, achieving degrees in transportation, business administration, and accounting. She enjoyed her professional career in a variety of opportunities. Joan and Chris loved boating, spending 23 years boating in Sturgeon Bay and addition years at other ports. Joan greatly cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy.

Joan is survived by her husband Chris, children: Jeff (Jaime) Danen and Alison Denil (Tom), grandchildren: Bryn, Isabel, and Adah; sisters: Diane Van De Hei (Gary), Karen Brill, Rosanne (Ed) Herzog; brother-in-law: Eugene Geurts; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Alice Van De Hei; and her sisters: Nancy Geurts and Linda Mullen.

No formal services will be held. A family gathering in Joan’s honor will take place at a later date.
