Joan A. Bushmaker

Joan A. Bushmaker, 83, Allouez passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Louis and Caroline (Nachtwey) Peters was born on December 6, 1928 in De Pere. Joan married John Bushmaker on May 2, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere. John preceded her in death on January 10, 2004. Joan was a nurse at St. Mary Hospital for several years. She was a very active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Allouez where she helped in the parish office, cleaning the church, was part of the prayer tree, helped with funeral dinners, as well as many other church activities. She was also a member of The OAKS Group (Older Adults Klub) at St. Matthew. Joan enjoyed many hours volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Store and the Salvatorian Mission in New Holstein. The greatest joy in Joan’s life was her family. Joan is survived by her children, Linda Bushmaker; Peter (Karen) Bushmaker; Paul (Laurie) Bushmaker; Barb (Andy) Nelson; Betsy (Steve) Benz; Lisa (Dave) Schmidt; grandchildren, Bruce Matzke; Heather (Chris) Condict; John (Kellie) Bushmaker; Dan (Katie) Bushmaker; Cody, Cameron and Cole Bushmaker; McKenzie and Whitney Nelson; Phillip and Jacob Benz; Sara, Devin and Marcus Schmidt; great-grandchildren, EJ and Elle Condict; Michael Bushmaker; Jenna Bushmaker; Jayden Kish. Sisters, Judy (Roger) Kralovec; Patricia (Ken) Vande Walle; sister-in-law, Irene Bushmaker; many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Sr. Carleen Peters; John’s brothers and sisters, Ernest (Catherine), Joseph (Ione), Cyril (Patricia), Louie, Norbert, George (Marie) Renkens, Theresa (Albert) Vanden Heuvel, Rosie (William) Steinfeldt. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00p.m. Parish prayer service at 7:30p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Allouez on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 9:30a.m. until 11:00a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday with the Rev.
